As part of your retreat package, our chefs are on hand to create three lavish, healthy and nourishing meals for you every day. All of our recipes were created by our founder, Tush - if you ask nicely, we might just share our Welikande cooking book with you!

Every meal is prepared with love and attention to detail to provide you with an authentic Sri Lankan experience with a modern European twist. We source every ingredient from the Welikande farm on our property or from local vendors, ensuring everything on your plate is fresh and tasty.
BREAKFAST
Start the day right
Breakfast includes Western and Sri Lankan options; fruit, pancakes, bread, dahl and more. Our coffee is grown, roasted and ground here, on site and is a constant guest favourite.
LUNCH
On-the-go or on-the-table
If your daily activity takes you off our property, lunch is packed and taken on your activities, or bought from the village.
If you're spending your day enjoying the estate, lunch will be served for you.
DINNER
A Sri Lankan banquet
Every night is a Sri Lankan feast with veggies from the garden and village. We all dine together, sharing stories of travel and life experiences. Every dinner is different and caters to any and all dietary requirements.
KOLA KANDA
Every morning, after yoga, before breakfast
As part of a retreat at Welikande, every morning we offer Kola Kanda.

Kola Kanda is a traditional Sri Lankan herbal porridge made from rice, coconut milk, and fresh green leafy herbs, often including gotu kola, moringa, or welpenela. Rich in nutrients and packed with antioxidants, it is renowned for its ability to cleanse the body, boost immunity, and promote digestion.

Drinking kola kanda on an empty stomach before breakfast is ideal because it helps detoxify the system, balances digestive fire, and provides a gentle, energising start to the day. Its natural ingredients support overall health while offering a light yet nourishing meal.
